Static Art
The term “static” implies a motionless state, which is the state in which most physical art resides. In general, paintings tend not to have any moving parts.
The presented works in this collection are created with a variety of media.
The Vessel Collection
It has been stated that the human body is a vessel (or container) for the soul. In these works, the human shadow represents the soul. The soul touches reality in the photograph by pouring the vessel, while the artwork touches reality by attaching the actual vessel that was used in the snapshot and connecting it to the pour. The spacing of the circular mirrors mimics that of the halo around the human shadow’s head, which bridges the surreal nature of the work and the viewer in present time.
